It was he who disguised himself as an old beggar and infiltrated the enemy. The second of these epic poems was named The Odyssey. Order vs. Odysseus' craftiness is so central to his character that it's almost part of his name. What makes you cringe? During the battle with the suitors, for example, she could easily and quickly prevail; but she makes Odysseus earn the victory. He is confident that he represents virtue even when a modern audience might not be so sure. Laertes is his father, and he makes his home on Ithaka' 9. The downfall of characters, cities or monsters can be seen often in many stories. Throughout the poem, Zeus punishes anyone who violates this code.
When Aeolus grants the Greeks fair winds to Ithaca, Odysseus falls asleep within sight of home, enabling his suspicious, undisciplined crew to open the bag of ill winds and let loose a tempest that blows them off course.

Theme of home in the odyssey
At the start of his journey, Odysseus is brash, overconfident, and taunting, which results in numerous obstacles and delays. He sacrifices a ram to Zeus 9. This quality makes him a good leader. He plans again later, setting up the suitors to be destroyed and really taking his sweet time about it.
Theme of homecoming in the odyssey
In Book XIII, he disguises himself as a beggar in order to probe the faithfulness of the members of his court. The Odyssey is deeply concerned with the moral code binding hosts to treat strangers and travelers kindly. Even the wrath of Poseidon does not keep him from his homecoming.
